Old Flame (Guardian of the Awani)

This work is the product of a vision. A seminar in capturing an ancient moment. Yosemite's Sentinel Rock. As ancient as it is eternal. The Awani band is a people native to Yosemite Valley. One of their main villages rests in the same location as the current welcome center. As visitors meander through the winding roads of the park, Sentinel Rock is the last face they pass before arriving. Now guarding the old village, Sentinel lights up the valley with warmth in early fall and late summer. An old flame, silently guarding his ancient people.

Old Flame is a 24"x36" oil painting presented on supported birch wood panel. Reproductions available on archival paper or canvas in the size of your choosing.
